ABOUT THE ROLE:
Longwarry Primary School are currently searching for a highly skilled and qualified Out of School Hours Care Coordinator to manage our fun and inspiring Before and After School Care service located at Longwarry Primary School.
Our Outside School Hours Care provides dedicated care for children from Prep – Year 6. We develop engaging and supportive programs for the children in our service by offering activities that are innovative, culturally appropriate, value individual needs and student voice.
Our program runs from 7.00am – 8.50am each morning (Before School Care) and from 3.20pm – 6.00pm each afternoon. (After School Care). As part of this program we offer healthy breakfasts and nutritious afternoon tea.
Children in our service use ‘student voice and agency’ and are provided with choice when it comes to the selection of play based and hands on learning activities.
Some of our activities for the children in our care include:
- Outdoor games (basketball, ball games, playground environment)
- Science experiments
- Loop to loop car racing
- Painting
- Origami
- Art and Crafts
- Cooking
- Dress ups
- Movement to music
- Board games
ABOUT YOU:
You will be focused on building positive relationships, passionate about planning and implementing engaging programs for children and have a strong desire to create positive experiences.
Above all you will have a drive for creating opportunities for development, inclusion and engagement and a commitment to providing a safe environment for the children in the service.
Building and maintaining strong relationships with families will be crucial as you will share information with the families in relation to the care, welfare and development of their children.
As the OSHC coordinator you will:
- Complete observations of children
- Preparation of Breakfast and Afternoon Tea
- Coordinate and facilitate activity stations
- Maintain cleaning and sanitization
- Provide a safe environment for the children at all times
As a professional educator you will need:
- You must have a minimum qualification of a Diploma of Early Childhood Education/Children’s Services/OSHC or be enrolled in such a course
- You will have a passion for educating and creating positive experiences for children
- Communicate clearly and effectively with families and school staff
- Pride yourself on engaging effectively with the children in your care and their families
- You understand your obligations under the Child Safe Standards and work within the National Quality and Victorian Early Years Learning Frameworks
- Possess a Working with Children’s Check and Frist Aid accreditation (Certificate II)
