Little Scholars School of Early Learning is a group of 14 family-orientated, early education campuses with a focus on creating a successful future for all our children, educators and families. The unique position of Outdoor Teacher has become available, in this position you would be working across our Little Scholars Pacific Pines campus to deliver our Bush Kinder and Forest School curriculum, as well as developing our campuses outdoor environments and program.
Our embedded ‘Forest School’ inspired curriculum supports the children and educators to venture out into their local community to practice their skills and confidence. As the Outdoor Teacher you will also facilitate rich outdoor learning opportunities within the campuses.
Role Requirements
The opportunity has become available for a permanent part-time (37.5hour per week) Outdoor Lead Educator to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will need;
- a Diploma of Early Childhood Education (or equivalent) or studying
- Deep experience with outdoor learning and natural learning experiences
- a current and valid Working with Children Check
- a Current First Aid CPR and emergency Asthma and Anaphylaxis training.
- experience with the NQF, NQS, EYLF & the QKLG
- an ability to interpret curriculum documents
- effective oral and written communication skills
- leadership skills to mentor and support the campus team with the outdoor environments and program.
Key Role Responsibilities
- Responsibility for the development and implementation of the bush kinder curriculum across all studios
- Train and support others with the implementation of our bush kinder curriculum
- Work collaboratively within a team to ensure the best outcomes for children and families.
- Delivery of a high-quality, inclusive, educational program.
- Participate in professional and personal development.
- Promote the service within the local community in accordance with the Vision, Mission and Values.
