Outreach Coordinator. Drawing on your experience as a classroom teacher, science communicator or other relevant experience the
Outreach Coordinator is responsible for developing and executing school excursion, incursion and holiday workshop programs working in partnership with Institute researchers to ensure all material relates back to the work of the Institute.Reporting to the Senior
Outreach Coordinator and working closely with the wider Outreach team you will also plan hands-on activities to be run at community events, within the hospital and in regional and remote areas.A full list of responsibilities can be found on the job description however some of your duties will include:
- Liaise with schools to coordinate excursion and incursion bookings.
- Work with researchers to develop and create new program activities.
- Evaluate programs to ensure continuous improvement.
- Coordinate activities for external events.
- Complete risk plans & assessments for each program.
Conveniently based within the Perth Children's Hospital, this part time position which will be offered for 3 years.
About youThe ideal applicant will be passionate about developing and delivering science education and outreach programs, have excellent coordination and time management skills and positively contribute to a professional, collaborative and focused team.Along with this, you will also be able to demonstrate the following skills and attributes:
- Tertiary qualification in education, science, science communication or similar experience.
- HLTAID011 Provide First Aid and a C Class Drivers Licence.
- Demonstrated experience engaging with children and teachers in an educational setting.
- Demonstrated ability to successfully build, manage and develop positive working relationships with a range of stakeholders.
- Experience developing and facilitating education sessions through workshops, meetings, presentations and talks.
- Demonstrated experience in project management within an outreach, campaign or education focus.
- Passion for science.
