We are currently seeking a part time, permanent staff member (0.8 FTE) to join our team based at our offices in Sunshine and in the Brimbank Community.

The role

Reporting to a Maternal and Child Health Team Leader, we are seeking an Outreach MCH Nurse who can bring their skills and experience for:

  • To provide an outreach service to families who cannot access the Universal Maternal and Child Health Service.
  • Develop and maintain links with health professionals and other relevant agencies to provide co-ordinated care for families.
  • Work in partnership with internal and external stakeholders to develop and implement engagement strategies for vulnerable families in Brimbank.

To be considered you will have:

  • Ability to work in accordance with our values and behaviours
  • Current Nursing and Midwifery registration
  • Maternal Child Health Qualification
  • Maternal and Child health experience of at least 18mths
  • Previous experience in Enhanced Maternal Child Health desirable.
  • Highly developed assessment and referral skills.
  • Demonstrated experience in working in an outreach capacity and independently.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage workload and competing tasks and priorities.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and network effectively with families, colleagues, community agencies and government departments.
  • Demonstrated ability to work a team environment and positively contribute to the team.
