Package Engineer - Major Mining project - FIFO 2/1 roster
Our client, a leading engineering consultancy, is looking for a Package Engineer to join their team. They currently own one of the busiest project portfolios in WA, Australia across the Mining, Oil & Gas, and Energy sectors.

The role
In this role you will manage and coordinate equipment packages and make sure that the packages are executed in a timely manner with a focus on safety and cost efficiency. You will also act as the primary point of contact between the technical teams and the suppliers/vendors, making sure that the equipment is in line with the project, code, and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a HSE focus within the team and make sure OHSE requirements are included in design and procurement
- Build and maintain healthy client relationships and resolve project issues promptly
- Manage package budget allocations within the project scope
- Communicate effectively with the design team and other stakeholders and report to the Engineering Manager
- Establish clear objectives to the design team and effectively manage the inter-discipline interfaces
- Provide assistance where needed with the procurement process throughout the project to make sure the goods meet specification, and are delivered in a timely manner within the budget
- Identify potential current or future risks as the package advances and create risk mitigation, contingency and resolution plans
Qualifications
- A relevant and recognised engineering degree
- Previous technical, practical, and leadership experience in mechanical or electrical disciplines is required
- Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status is preferred
- Experience in project management, supervising, workshare coordination, and EPCM projects
- Experience in a mining environment (preferably underground, or gold mines)
- Proactive and goal oriented attitude with excellent attention to detail.
- Enthusiastic team player, with excellent stakeholder management skills
