Current Opportunity
We are currently seeking a Package Engineer (Mechanical & Piping) to join our energetic and diverse team on a contract basis (15 months)
You will be leading the mechanical and piping engineering for our new Compression Facility, supporting safe delivery, and promoting continuous improvement.
Key accountabilities will include:
  • Responsible for the performance of various engineering, manufacturing and construction contractors to deliver the Mechanical & Piping and Pipeline engineering scope for the facility and pipeline work program consisting of gas processing facilities and gas export pipelines.
  • Coordinate with other asset teams and disciplines to ensure that project requirements and timing are well understood and delivered.
  • Develop Engineering scopes of work, specifications, data sheets and schedules for Engineering Consultants, Equipment Packages, and Construction Contracts.
  • Review Engineering Consultant, Vendor and Contractor Proposals and CTRs in order to prepare Technical and Commercial bid evaluations and recommendations.
  • Coordinate and provide all necessary facilities and pipeline engineering input to the Compliance and Approvals team to ensure that all necessary approvals are understood and are in place in a timely manner.
  • Management of equipment package and material supply contracts, including review and approval of design deliverables, co-ordination of contract kick-off and weekly progress meetings, co-ordination of inspection activities, final inspection and testing (FAT), and release and co-ordination of shipping to site.
  • Assist with the preparation of cost estimates and schedules for delegated engineering work packages.
  • Develop and populate the Senex digital CCMS with all system technical details during the detailed design phase.
  • Provide cost estimates for budgeting and economic evaluation purposes for surface facilities infrastructure as required to support preparation of AFE's for delegated projects.
  • Collaborate with Project Teams, Contracts, Procurement and Logistics Teams and vendors to ensure that adequate inventory levels of “standard equipment” are maintained to support upcoming appraisal and development campaigns.
  • Ensure sufficient Operations & Maintenance input is integrated with design at appropriate times.
  • Coordinate the interface and communication of information related to Site Construction activities with the Construction Superintendent.
  • Technical surveillance of construction contractors to ensure Pre-commissioning, Commissioning and Operations
  • Readiness activities are carried out, and that documentation is progressively signed off. Ensure successful handover to the Operations and Maintenance Team is completed.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • 10+ years of experience in upstream Oil and Gas Project development.
  • 10+ years Mechanical & Piping Engineering experience.
  • 5+ years Project Management experience would be beneficial.
  • Engineering Degree or relevant Tertiary Qualifications.
  • Understanding of relevant Australian and International Standards including AS4041, AS2885 and B31.3.
  • Thorough knowledge of CSG processing.
  • Specific experience with upstream compression packages, power generation and process equipment would be highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple small projects within a small team.
  • Must be able to work in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities to deliver Senex targets.
  • Proven ability to work with all disciplines and teams across Senex Energy business.
  • Thorough knowledge of project management and delivery practices.
