An opportunity currently exists for a Packing Supervisor, based at our Tennyson site, on a full-time permanent basis. The primary purpose of this role is to effectively lead a team of 12 shift workers to deliver strong results, leading to improvement in areas such as production rates, plant reliability, hygiene, inventory management and cost control.
Key accountabilities include:
- Maintain hygiene and GMP to a high standard.
- Ensure compliance with Quality System and Safety procedures and policies.
- Drive improvements to our safety and quality culture.
- Ensure WH&S risk assessments are conducted.
- Maximise packing to achieve highest possible OEE targets and efficiency KPI’s while ensuring product consistency and quality.
- Ensuring feedback to packaging suppliers is timely and accurate on quality and quantity issues.
- Lead the site in the S&OP planning process, working with a national team.
- Take a leading role in stocktake related to the packaging department including finished product, pallets, and empty bags.
- Participation in Site Management meetings to ensure a high level of communication across all departments.
- Leading the Packing department through audits.
The successful applicant will possess:
- Experience in an automated packing environment.
- Good people skills and a team player.
- Communication skills - written and verbal.
- Knowledge of packing equipment and processes.
- Sound knowledge of SAP and Microsoft Office.
- Desire to drive improvement to achieve best possible outcomes.
- Forklift licence (preferred).
- A background in food or pharmaceutical production (preferred).
