Remuneration:
Remuneration value up to AU$257,226 p.a. comprising salary between $4,680.10 p.f. - $4,962.00 p.f. (L25-L27) or remuneration value up to AU$235,390 p.a. comprising salary between $3,913.60 p.f. - $4,545.85 p.f. (L18-L24); employer superannuation contribution (up to 12.75%), annual leave loading (17.5%) is paid for 4 weeks leave, attraction and retention incentive allowance, professional development allowance, professional development leave 3.6 weeks p.a., professional indemnity cover, plus overtime and on-call allowances.
The Role:
Mackay is a vibrant regional centre in tropical North Queensland, servicing a population of over 180,000. The Mackay Isaac Whitsunday Region has a thriving economy that includes a diverse range of tourism, agriculture, industry, mining, education and health industries.
The Child and Adolescent Unit has 11 funded beds, and a Special Care Nursery with 8 funded beds (Clinical Service Capability Framework Level 4). The health facilities located outside of Mackay form a division of the Mackay Hospital and Health Service known as the Division of Rural Services, and provide a range of acute and aged care, community, allied health, and mental health services.
Your opportunity
- Provision of high-quality clinical services for Mackay Hospital and Health Service (MHHS) as part of the Child and Adolescent Health Service (CAHS) at Mackay Base Hospital, and Mackay Community Health.
- Educate Paediatric Trainees rotating from Children's Hospital Queensland and medical staff comprising PHO/SHO/Intern/Allied Health, nursing staff and medical students.
- Work in a family-centred environment with six other consultants championing excellence in interdisciplinary evidence-based care for children and adolescents with opportunity for research/academic appointment with James Cook University for the right candidate.
- Contribute to patient safety, audit, research, and service planning activities.
- This is a great role for newly minted or experienced FRACP.
- Opportunity for further extending clinical services to local Private facilities.
