We have an opportunity for a Paralegal to join our Statutory Lines Insuranceteam in Melbourne working with James Johnson.
About the team and the work
- This is a casual role with flexibility of which days you work, ideally you will be available 3-5 days a week
- We rarely have roles come up in this specialised team given the breadth and depth or work on offer and the genuine collaborative and cohesive team culture
- The team works across both Victorian and Commonwealth jurisdictions with self-insurers on statutory issues, managing claims and common law matters, as well as supporting major litigation proceedings
- You will join an established and reputable group, who will support you in your development whilst working on complex and diverse matters
- Some of your duties will include compiling books of documents, preparing court documents, trial and appeal preparation including preparing briefs to counsel and liaising with counsel and chambers, assisting solicitors with day-to-day operations of files/client management

About you
- Our ideal candidate will have previous paralegal and/or be currently studying to become a lawyer, ideally in their 2nd or 3rd year
- An ability to prioritise work effectively to meet deadlines and possess strong communication skills
- Strong attention to detail with a methodical and logical approach is also essential
