The Office of the Commissioner supports the Commissioner of State Revenue. As the Parliamentary Services Officer key accountabilities of the role include, but not limited to:
- Providing high-level specialist support of activities in relation to Cabinet and Parliamentary Services and other government business.
- Maintaining knowledge of Government policies, procedures and processes used when preparing Parliamentary and other Government business.
- Managing competing multiple requests and deadlines from CLLO and Executive Correspondence team.
- Coaching and mentoring team members to build a skilled, resilient, flexible and constructive work environment and ensure consistent service levels and standards are maintained.
- Quality assure and critically examining Cabinet briefing materials and submissions, Parliamentary briefing materials, responses to Questions on Notice, Governor's and Premier's briefing materials, executive and Ministerial correspondence, ensuring relevance and appropriateness and that such documents have been developed in accordance with government guidelines.
- Establishing and maintaining effective relationships with senior executives, directors and key contacts across QRO and Treasury
- Liaising and negotiating with Treasury CLLO and the Executive Correspondence team including disseminating feedback from CLLO and Executive Correspondence team.
- Drafting correspondence for the Commissioner to meet requirements for legislation.
- Ensuring compliance with record keeping standards while managing timely, accurate and complete information to enable smart decision making.
- Identifying and presenting quality process improvement to existing business processes.
To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate sound knowledge of procedures relating to government, particularly in relation to Parliamentary and Ministerial processes. You will have experience managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment and well-developed interpersonal and relationship management skills, including leading a team. Working from broad direction, you will have experience working in a self-directed way.
