We are looking for a reliable receptionist who can commence work in-person immediately for an 18-month contract with the availability to work one of the following shifts.
- Opening/triage shift 7am - 10am on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays
- Receptionist shift 10am - 3pm on Mondays and Tuesdays
- Closing/processing payments shift 3pm - 7pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays
To be eligible to apply, applicants must be able to commit to the following:
- A commitment to working over the university exam period,
- A minimum of 18-month working commitment with annual leave over the Christmas break.
- Prior experience working in a receptionist or triage role.
We are a psychology practice located in Carlton Melbourne, approximately an 8-minute walk from Melbourne Central Train Station and close to The University of Melbourne and RMIT.
About usWe have 28 psychologists and provisional psychologists, working with children, adolescents, adults, couples and families and other groups.
About the Role- You will be responsible for welcoming clients to the practice.
- Answering the telephone.
- Making, rescheduling, and cancelling appointments.
- Taking payments and following up on payments either online via a messaging system or by calling the client directly.
- Answering email enquiries and emails from the practitioners.
- You will need to become efficient and comfortable with assigning new clients to practitioners, including having basic understanding of psychodiagnoses.
- You need the capacity to be focused and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Some shifts include additional tasks including:
- Keeping the kitchens of both buildings clean.
- Restocking office supplies and kitchen
- Watering plants.
- Ensuring heating and air-conditioners have been switched off at the end of the day and locking both buildings if you have the last shift.
- You must have prior psychology or medical reception experience, be willing to learn new systems and adapt to our working environment.
- You must be able to make phone calls and communicate with both practitioners and clients politely and confidently.
- You must be able to work quickly and efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Have a Police Check or able to apply for one ASAP
- Have a Working with Children Check or able to apply for one ASAP
- To must be able to, at a minimum, make an 18-month commitment
- You must be able to work over the university exam and holiday periods (excluding Christmas)
- Must be flexible to cover shifts
