About the Opportunity:
We have a rare and exciting opportunity for an accomplished Participant Protection Case Manager to join our Integrity Services team.
Racing Victoria is committed to eliminating discrimination, harassment, child abuse and other forms of inappropriate behaviour and/or conduct from racing. This role is critical in protecting and safeguarding industry participants through implementing and enforcing the RV Participant Protection Policy, Safeguarding Young People Policy and Speak Up Policy that concentrate on protecting and safeguarding industry participants in line with legislative and community standards. This role is an essential part of Racing Victoria’s proactive and preventative approach to tackling Participant Protection and wellbeing and making “Racing for all.”
As well as management of these policies, the role will also be responsible for development and delivery of education programs with key stakeholders to promote cultural change and build respectful and positive behaviours.
In addition, this role has a responsibility to manage the processes, strategies and procedures to effectively triage and investigate Participant Protection matters. This role is the point of contact for Participant Protection concerns and would be responsible for conducting victim, witness and suspect interviews using qualified investigative techniques and would be responsible for developing and planning proactive strategies to achieve investigation goals.
This role will collaborate with other members of the Integrity Services team during the investigation process as well as the Participant Wellbeing Manager to support victims and external stakeholders alike to achieve the desired outcomes in a complex environment.
About You:
As the successful candidate, you must possess the following:
- Demonstrated experience in creating, developing and implementing programs and policies to protect and safeguard vulnerable industry participants.
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge of current national legislative and investigative practices including the practices relating to sexual assault, member protection and safeguarding.
- Demonstrated knowledge and qualifications in conducting investigative interviews which includes extensive experience interviewing sexual assault victims and children.
- Demonstrated experience in working within an investigative team in complex and difficult investigations and managing external stakeholders including Law Enforcement Agencies (LEA) and wellbeing providers.
- Demonstrated experience in dealing and managing vulnerable people in precarious situations as well as managing the expectations of victims and injured parties.
- High level interpersonal, oral, presentation and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated record of integrity, appropriate handling of confidential information and ability to maintain discretion and confidentiality at all times during investigations as well as victim wellbeing.
- Demonstrated ability to work in a flexible manner and adjust to a rapidly changing environment.
- A Working with Children Check is required.
- A current Victorian driver’s licence is required.
- This role would require the successful incumbent to undertake regional travel which could involve overnight stays, occasional weekend work and or flexible hours.
