Job description

Purpose:
The Partnership Manager will plan, manage and coordinate advertising and promotional campaigns across an assigned territory under the Rainmaker Media Banner. He/she will develop relationships with existing clients’ and solicit new business by presenting proposals or pitches in collaboration with other members of the publishing hierarchy. A focus on KPI achievement and revenue generation is central to the role as is a focus on the client relationship and overall customer satisfaction.

The Partnership Manager will communicate directly with clients’ and prospects within an assigned territory. He/she will understand their individual needs and recommend appropriate media placements that maximise value and contribute to bottom line revenues for the Financial Standard, FSS and Money brand(s). The role will assist in developing sales strategies and creating detailed business plans to facilitate the attainment of company wide goals. The Partnership Manager should be adaptable and knowledgeable, acting as a key point of reference for clients’ transacting with us within as assigned remit.

The Partnership Manager is expected to engage the Director of Media Sales at appropriate touch points across the sales cycle and work closely with the broader Rainmaker Group team monitoring ad execution and delivery. Collaboration with other departments is crucial to the role, particularly where custom requests, data input and new product development influence client outcomes.

The Partnership Manager will report to the Director of Media Sales and will routinely report on an organised and methodical sales pipeline with a 3:1 ratio. The role is expected to proactively update internal CRM systems and analyse account data, providing accurate predictions to management. Meticulous planning and outstanding time management is essential to success in the role as the candidate balances a minimum quota of external meetings with client follow up and administrative responsibility.

As a full time member of the media sales team, the Partnership Manager will be required to support the team across major agency pitches, complex brief responses and statistic/data based requests as they arise. This will involve working with the Director – Media Sales to devise advertising campaigns that meet the client's brief and budget. The Partnership Manager will assist in driving incremental revenue into new and existing accounts by leveraging relationships to secure new business. He/she will also work to maintain deep relationships with Rainmaker Media’s suite of advertisers solidifying our position as the leading trade publication in market.

Creativity and vision, outstanding communication skills and a solid time management ethos will ensure success in the role coupled with an ability to develop professional relationships and deliver exceptional responses to an expected standard.

To offer Rainmaker Media’s Advertising clients’ an unparalleled customer service experience, extending assistance to the Director – Media Sales, the Client Services Team, Marketing Team and Graphic Design teams as required.

Assist in business development activity across major Financial Standard custom publishing sponsorships, such as FICAP, MAX, The Power 50 and the AFA Conference.

Assist in communicating any NEW products of services to Financial Standard’s suite of existing advertisers across all segments.

Assist in the event of a major client or agency pitch, briefing or response.

Assist the publisher with ad hoc editorial, production (filming), media partnership or sales related requests she may have as a result of schedule demands.

Responsibilities

Meet and liaise with clients’ to discuss and identify their advertising requirements.

Work alongside the Director of Media Sales to devise advertising campaigns that meet the client's brief and budgets.

Actively work on major pitches, alongside the broader team, with the aim of securing new business for Rainmaker Media.

Present campaign ideas and strategies to the client within a given territory. Provide strategic advice and recommendations for the same.

Seek new opportunities to add value to existing clients’.

Negotiate Rainmaker Media campaigns on behalf of The Rainmaker Group.

Maintain a current and ‘up to date’ FS Sustainability media kit collaboration with the marketing team and Group MD.

Effectively manage a successful sales pipeline, clearly demonstrating how you will prospect, engage and close accounts.

Proactively manage a CRM, making note of significant client interactions, threats and opportunities.

Provide business updates to the Director of Media Sales and the Publisher on a regular basis to demonstrate upcoming areas of interest for their business.

Liaise with, and act as the link between, the client and the advertising agency by maintaining regular contact with both.

Develop and maintain strategic relationships with clients’ across the board.

Research clients' products, services, plans, competitors and target markets.

Employ networking techniques and attend industry events to attract new advertisers.

Prepare for internal and external client meetings, having print outs ready and relevant documentation / story boards.

Assist the media sales team in all aspects of the day to day execution of client projects and campaigns. This includes but is not limited to the development of new assets for commercial sale.

Monitor the effectiveness of campaigns presented and negotiated by you.

Ensure that communication flows effectively

Present creative work to clients for approval or modification.

Assist in the training and development of the Media Sales Coordinator where appropriate / requested.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, Media, Economics or a Similar Field

With 5+ years of experience in Media Sales, Media Planning, Media Strategy or Advertising Revenue Generation

Significant experience in handling Fortune 500 and/or large enterprise accounts in a B2B environment

Proven track record in managing complex, multi-platform sales a demonstrative sales conversion rate.

Proven track record of hitting annual and quarterly sales and revenue targets.

Has the ability to identify client pain points, can facilitate, negotiate and close sales.

Possesses a strong new business development focus

Strong influencing and oral and written communication skills.

Passionate about selling, converting and winning

Prior experience with a client relationship management system (CRM) preferred

Must be eligible to work/ have full working rights in the county (please indicate work eligibility in resume)
