Job description
The role of the Senior Project Engineer is to support the Project Manager, Engineering and Coordinator Staff by effectively managing the team and working closely together with other stakeholders such as Construction, Land Access, Design, and the Client to ensure project tasks are delivered to the contract meeting the KPI metrics.

About the Role
As the Senior PM you are responsible for ensuring activities in the 1 to 3 month outlook is tracked and achieved, the team are effectively delivering project deliverables, effective co-ordination of site activities and providing technical support and resource to the construction teams. In addition, you are required to:
Effectively lead a team of Engineers/Co-Ordinators to forecast, plan, manage and report on the current and future Program of Works. This is to be achieved alongside the collaborative engagement with the Design, Construction and Land Access team
Support the Construction Team in efficiently delivering all construction works throughout the state in a timely manner
Key Accountabilities
Safety & Environment - ensure the team has a strong safety culture by ensuring corporate work safe processes and procedures are in place and providing a safe workplace. This includes dealing with incidents swiftly, contribution to toolbox meetings and promoting safety initiatives
Programme & Resource Management - proactively forecast and plan detailed design and construction works in conjunction with the Area Supervisors, and Design Leads in accordance with the Program of Work. This includes creating, updating and management of a detailed schedule, dealing with construction variations and their cost impacts, management of ticket of works and materials, and resolve construction and technical issues
Quality & Contract Management – review all Project KPIs and lead indicators, analysing results and facilitating and developing improvement initiatives, monitoring defects, management of clients’ expectations (you are the escalation point for all programs of work), attend weekly governance meetings, resolve/provide feedback for issues raised and implement changes required within the team
Leadership, Culture & Values - lead the Engineering and Coordinator team in the day-to-day execution of the Project and support the Field Construction Team. Create a culture of ownership and excellence, providing guidance and support to teams ensuring an equitable and respectful workplace
About You
Ideally will have a Tertiary Qualifications in Engineering or Equivalent, accompanied with at least 4+ years, ideally in the infrastructure / construction industry.
You will also possess:
Good understanding of telecommunications pit and pipe and optic fibre network infrastructure
Comprehensive experiencing in project planning, principles and practices
Proven record of dealing with key stakeholders, including workforce and sub-contractors
Proven record of project reporting
High level of computer skills including MS word, Excel and ERP systems such as SAP
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Critical thinking with strong time management and problem-solving capabilities
