The renown Kalgoorlie Hotel in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia, is looking for an experienced full-time Pastry Cook. Built in 1897, the Kalgoorlie Hotel is a grand old establishment which caters for families and customers of all ages with its friendly relaxed atmosphere, excellent tasty and varied menu, or late at night with a band and safe party atmosphere.The positionThe Pastry Cook will support our Head Chef and the kitchen team to deliver a modern Australian style dessert and pastry menu.At least three (3) years of relevant employment experience is required. In addition, formal Cookery qualification is preferred, however we will consider additional work experience in lieu of a formal qualification.Duties include:
- Prepare and make cakes and desserts for café and restaurant;
- Prepare and make pies and sausage rolls for café;
- Prepare and make scones and biscuits for café and restaurant;
- Prepare and make savoury items for function platters
- Preparing dough and pastry fillings;
- Support the kitchen staff in maintaining a clean, safe and hygienic kitchen;
- Contribute to menu design and development from time to time with the Head Chef;
- Assist and support junior and kitchen staff.
