Crust Bakery is looking for talented pastrycooks to join our team! Full-time positions available now. You will be part of a professional and motivated team where you can grow and contribute your food creativity into the role.
JOB TITLE: Pastrycook
JOB TYPE: Full-time; 38 hours per week
LOCATION: 1/31 Enterprise Street, Kunda Park, QLD 4556 (but some of our other locations may also have availabilities)
SUPERVISOR/MANAGER: Manager of the “Crust Bakery – Kunda Park” and owner of the chain
REMUNERATION: $75,000 gross per year before superannuation
MAIN DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
Overall you are responsible for creating delicious and visually appealing pastries, managing the pastry kitchen efficiently, and ensuring the highest quality standards are met. Their role requires creativity, attention to detail, and a passion for baking.
- Assist with daily production of a wide variety of high-quality bakery & patisserie goods consistently following set recipes
- Demonstrate skills in baking pastries, desserts, cakes, cookies, sweets, and pies
- Apply pastry baking techniques according to recipes
- Operate daily our dough sheeter to produce high volumes of laminated products including viennoiseries
- Produce various doughs
- Finish & decorate our pastry products
- Monitor stock levels of products, independently determine and produce appropriate quantities required
- Maintain high standards of pastry food production
- Participate in the creation and testing of new products
- Monitor the stocks of baking ingredients and packaging and keep accurate data recording where relevant
- Assist in controlling food costs by minimising spoilage and wastage
- Check quality of material and condition of equipment used within the kitchen
- Maintain the highest standards of food hygiene and cleanliness practices to ensure Food Safety and WHS compliance is achieved
- Supervise and train other staff members as needed
Qualifications
- Relevant formal certifications (e.g. Certificate III in Patisserie or equivalent)
- Food safety supervisor, 1st Aid and other kitchen safety certifications highly valued but not essential
Experience
- At least 2 years of direct proven experience as a pastrycook in Patisserie / Bakery
- Experience in European patisseries highly valued
