Your New Role
An attractive opportunity has arisen for a full-time Patent Assistant to join FB Rice’s highly successful Biotechnology group in Melbourne working with a patent attorney partner. This is a 12 month fixed-term contract, with potential to become an ongoing role.
Your Key Responsibilities
Working with our database and template system (including Inprotech, iManage, Outlook)
- Data entry
- Proof reading
- Creating and amending documents
- Managing attorney reminders
- Ad hoc administrative tasks such as organising meetings and managing emails and official correspondence
- Preparation of invoices
- Filing of patent applications
- Working with the IP Australia and IP Office of New Zealand on-line databases
Your Training and Skills
To be successful in this role it is a requirement that you have:
- excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- strong organisational and time management skills
- strong attention to detail
- self-confidence, and an ability to exercise your initiative
- an ability to work in a team and independently
- a respect for established processes and procedures
- a solid knowledge of MS Office and ideally Inprotech
