  • Exciting opportunity to join in leading the transformation of the Parkville Precinct’s pathology services
  • Melbourne CBD location
The Pathology Network West (PNW) Program is an exciting transformation program spanning the four health services of the Parkville Precinct: The Royal Melbourne Hospital, The Royal Women’s Hospital, The Royal Children’s Hospital, and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre. This strategic program will amalgamate the pathology services within the Parkville Precinct to provide world-class, research-led public pathology services.
The Parkville Precinct has a strong history of collaboration, with each health service taking responsibility for Precinct-wide reforms. The Royal Melbourne Hospital is the lead site for the PNW Program, maintaining continued close relationships with the hospitals throughout the Program.
Pathology services in the Precinct provide essential services for patients and insightful and timely advice for clinicians. The vision of the PNW Program is to provide more equitable access to larger, better equipped pathology services and specialised testing expertise, helping more patients to benefit from research-driven outcomes.
We are looking for a Corporate Services Project Manager to lead the delivery of the PNW Corporate Support model.
Your new role:
  • Lead the corporate transition of the three Pathology Services to a single centralised model for the new Pathology Network entity.
  • Create and maintain the project plan and budget for all activities relating to the establishment and delivery of the PNW Corporate Services across all corporate workstreams (i.e. Finance, Procurement, HR and Payroll, ICT).
  • Drive and oversee timely delivery of all key project deliverables and milestones.
  • Monitor risk and issues - escalate anything outside of agreed tolerances in a timely manner.
About you:
  • You have relevant tertiary qualifications or equivalent professional/business experience in Project Management.
  • You bring extensive experience in project management and implementation, including proven capacity to develop and implement complex strategic initiatives, developing and monitoring project plans, managing change, performance and reporting, issue and risk management, and managing budgets?.
  • You demonstrate knowledge and understanding of Corporate Services functions and systems (e.g., HR, Payroll, ICT, Finance, Medical Workforce, Procurement).
  • You have excellent interpersonal, influencing and negotiating skills with experience engaging, collaborating, and influencing key stakeholders and customers to achieve optimal project outcomes.
Why work with The Royal Melbourne Hospital?
  • Join a values-based organisation offering great opportunities for career diversity and professional development, including training and research opportunities, as well as access to mentorship and leadership programs.
  • Ongoing reward and recognition programs including monthly ‘You Made a Difference’ awards celebrating staff and teams across the organisation.
  • Take advantage of an expanding employee benefits program, with comprehensive Health & Wellbeing programs to support work life balance, including onsite staff gym and staff vaccination program.
  • Up to $12,000 tax free earnings with salary packaging options.
  • Generous leave entitlements – five weeks annual leave per year (pro-rata for part time), additional monthly paid day off for full time staff.
