  • The primary purpose of the Patient Liaison Officer / Revenue Clerk is pivotal to service provision within the hospital environment, promoting the use of private health insurance in a public hospital. The role is required to have an extensive knowledge and understanding of all chargeable patient admissions and non-admitted attendances in order to provide timely and accurate information to patients and their families.
  • This knowledge and communication is also critical to the timely and accurate generation of billing related to hospital accommodation, DVA, Defence, prosthetic, compensable, Medicare ineligible, Radiology, Staff Specialist/Facem and miscellaneous billing.
  • The Patient Liaison Officer / Revenue Clerk is part of a wider Admissions team providing support, advice and mentoring to the Emergency Department and the General Admissions team members to ensure a standardised efficient approach to all admissions including patient elections and associated documentation.
  • The role provides support to the Revenue Manager (with training and the implementation of strategies across the facility) that maximize revenue.
  • The Patient Liaison Officer / Revenue Clerk is responsible for reviewing the NSW State-wide Revenue Portal and regular attendance at facility and district wide meetings to identify opportunities to improve revenue for Wagga Wagga Base Hospital.
