About the Role
Support Services is responsible for the provision of non-clinical services that includes food services, patient support, porters, cleaning, linen, pest control, central production kitchen, waste management, car parking, hygiene services and some retail services.
The General Services department at Casey Hospital requires a qualified Patient Services Assistant to work 27 hours a fortnight on an ongoing basis in our Imaging department. We are looking for a flexible person who is keen to fill a permanent part time role with an opportunity to back fill additional shifts where available.In this role, you will be rostered to work the following shifts:
Friday 17:00 – 23:30
Saturday 15:30– 23:30
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to::
Ward and department cleaning
Bed making
Use of lifting equipment; bed movers and wheelchairs
Assisting nursing staff as requested
Transfer & cleaning of ward equipment
About You
To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:
Certificate III Health Services Assistant (Essential)
Previous experience as a Patient Services Assistant (Desirable)
Excellent understanding of patient identification procedures.
Ability to comprehend and follow written instructions and procedures
Able to undertake physical work including lifting, carrying and manual handling
Excellent understanding of cleaning methodologies and infection control procedures
A strong commitment to working effectively as part of a team
Excellent verbal & written communication skills
A commitment to delivering excellent customer service
Takes pride in your work with great attention to detail
Has great time management skills and ability to prioritise task
