My client a multinational company is seeking to appoint a Payroll Manager. We are representing a successful global organisation within the FMCG and distribution sector that delivers a range of products to the consumer and commercial markets. This position will manage a small team of payroll professionals and will lead the management of the organisations payroll and system enhancements. The Role
We are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead the payroll function at our corporate offices in South East Melbourne. The role will be responsible for leading a small team of payroll professionals, executing payroll strategy, leading system enhancements and implementations and partnering with the business to deliver payroll services.
This is a hybrid role offering 2 days a week to work from home.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coach, lead and provide continuous development of the Payroll Team
- Oversee the full processing of payroll, head count of 700+ employees
- Ensure accurate processing of payroll and meeting required timeframes
- Lead and manage payroll related projects
- Act as a true business partner across the group, specifically working closely with the People and Culture team and Finance function.
- Leading the identification, scoping and implementation of system enhancements in partnership with the service provider
- Work closely with senior leadership positions and stakeholders in Finance, Risk, Compliance, and IT, as well as external audit organisations.
- You will be the key contact for internal and external auditors and will manage risks and undertake key control testing, with an ongoing focus on compliance and risk mitigation.
- Ensure compliance with relevant payroll legislation, industrial agreements, legislation, and policy requirements, including ability to interpret and work across multiples EBA's
The Candidate
To be successful for the role, you must demonstrate the following:
- Previous experience leading a high performing payroll team
- High level interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple stakeholder groups
- Results orientated, with the ability to prioritise rapidly, and strong problem solving and decision-making skills
- Proficient in payroll software and able to gain improvements on current processes
