Our client is a not-for-profit organization in the Western Suburbs of Melbourne. Due to a sustained period of organic growth, the need has arisen for a capable Payroll Officer to join their collaborative and diverse team for a temporary contract with intention to go permanent. This role is based on a 5 day per fortnight.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform End to End Payroll, processing leave calculations, long service, maternity and parental leave;
- Interpret EBA and Awards;
- Investigate and resolve employee queries;
- Be responsible for superannuation, WorkCover PAYG withholding tax, Single Touch Payroll and payroll deduction payments;
- Maintain employee records and updating all data related to the payroll function;
- Ensure compliance with legislation and awards;
- Ensure allowances and pay rates are correct.
- Proven experience, with a minimum of 3-years experience in a similar role;
- Possess 2 to 3 years payroll experience within Australia;
- Have a thorough understanding and performance of Super & Tax Calculations;
- Demonstrate strong experience in accounting/payroll system (Xero, FoundU or other relevant accounting software)
- Excellent computer skills including advanced MS Excel skills;
- High level of accuracy and strong attention to detail;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills;
- Excellent time management skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team;
- Proven ability to set up business systems and processes to ensure organisational efficiency;
- Flexible and a "can-do" attitude, with a professional and mature approach.
