Currently, they’re seeking an Payroll Officer in Melbourne who will be involved in the delivery of accounts payable and payroll and the company's other financial obligation and ensuring that creditors invoices are accurately recorded in the ledger and payments prioritised appropriately.
Responsibilities
- Receive, evaluate, and process invoices and expense claims for payment, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Maintain vendor accounts, reconcile statements, and resolve any discrepancies or issues with suppliers in a timely manner.
- Gather and verify employee timesheets or attendance records, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Estimate wages, salaries, and deductions accurately based on employee hours worked and relevant payroll regulations.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements, including taxation, superannuation, and Fair Work Act obligations.
- Organize and maintain electronic and physical files related to accounts payable and payroll transactions, ensuring proper documentation and audit trail.
- Must have full working rights in Australia.
- Previous experience in a similar role, with demonstrated proficiency in both accounts’ payable government concession claims and payroll processing.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, payroll regulations, and relevant legislation.
- Experience using accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB) and payroll systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines.
