About the Role
In this rare part-time opportunity (three days per week, Mon-Wed) you will maximise and enhance Jellinbah Group’s finance and payroll function by ensuring a professional level of service covering payroll and ensuring internal control procedures and documentation are in place.
Your role will be interesting and varied and will include:
- Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of current Employment Agreements and legislation affecting payroll functions.
- Timely and accurate processing of both weekly and monthly payrolls from site timesheets and corporate office.
- Calculating and processing adhoc adjustments and termination pays.
- Ensuring correct coding and allocation of payroll invoices.
- Processing of salary sacrifice transactions, including novated leases and reconciliations.
- Maintaining the company motor vehicle register and processing of relevant invoices.
- Maintaining copies of employee records/personal files on payroll related matters.
- Ensuring files and payroll data are accurate and current at all times in line with employment agreements, and letters of engagement supplied by others and, electronic record keeping and filing is kept up to date.
- Completing statutory returns and other reports for various organizations including Payroll Tax, Coal Board LSL, PAYG-W, and Superannuation returns.
- Monthly reconciliation of payroll data to the general ledger including processing payroll journals.
What You’ll Bring:
- Strong organisation skills, attention to detail, and time management.
- Excellent communicator, professional and personable.
- Experience with high volume transaction processing.
- Experience managing a busy inbox, investigating and dealing with issues and stakeholder management.
- Proficiency in Definitiv Payroll system advantageous but not essential
- Previous exposure to complex, high-volume businesses – multiple entities.
- Ability to problem solve, work to strict deadlines with accuracy and efficiency.

Jellinbah Group is a privately owned and operated Queensland-based coal company. With a corporate Head Office based in Brisbane and two current operations in Central Queensland’s Bowen Basin. Our mines primarily produce metallurgical coal and have a combined production capacity of approximately 14Mtpa which supplies the key markets of Europe, India, Japan, Taiwan, Korea, and Brazil.
