We're seeking a skilled Payroll Officer with a proven track record in handling payroll across diverse award structures, particularly in SCHADS. Your deep understanding of payroll processes, including superannuation, PAYG, and salary packaging, coupled with proficiency in Employment Hero Payroll software, will be invaluable assets in this role.

As a Payroll Officer, you'll be the linchpin of our payroll operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance while maintaining the utmost discretion with sensitive information. Your exceptional numerical skills and attention to detail will be crucial as you navigate complex payroll systems and meet deadlines with ease.

Key Requirements

  • Proven experience in handling payroll for multiple awards, with specific expertise in SCHADS.
  • Strong understanding of payroll processes including superannuation, PAYG, portable long service leave, and salary packaging.
  • Proficiency in Employment Hero Payroll software is highly desirable.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
A bit about the role

The Payroll Officer is a hands-on, critical role in managing the end-to-end payroll function including but not limited to superannuation, PAYG withholdings, portable long service leave, and salary packaging arrangements.

This position reports to & will be supported by the Finance Lead to effectively manage and administer of our payroll systems, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and industrial instruments and liaising with employees and management to resolve payroll-related This role is responsible for managing the administrative functions of the finance and payroll departments within Youth Projects. They have a strong understanding of financial principles, including accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting, and are committed to ensuring compliance with these principles

We are an independent, registered charity providing front line support to young people and people experiencing homelessness to open up pathways out of poverty and homelessness - breaking the cycle of disadvantage. Our focus is on respect, client-centred care, and harm prevention so people can lead longer lives, have improved health, meaningful employment, and a greater sense of belonging, safety, and security through our holistic model of care.
