About our opportunity
As one of our Payroll Officers you will be a part of processing the fortnightly payroll for Council’s 2000+ workforce. You will provide administrative duties and tasks and be a point of contact for payroll related matters, providing guidance and advice to employees and councillors on various payroll functions.
Additionally, you will:
- establish and maintain employee master file records including personal information, wages and allowances, classifications, bank details, deductions, and superannuation.
- ensure accurate preparation and processing of timesheets and leave applications, relating to payment of wages.
- complete the preparation of statements of earnings, certificates of services and payment requests of new and previous employees.
- perform calculation and processing of higher duties, overpayments, owing monies, terminations and salary sacrifice superannuation arrangements.
- prepare training and educational material to upskill staff on various payroll processing items.
About you
We are seeking someone experienced in processing a payroll of a similar size, has exceptional attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and efficiency in all tasks, with the time management skills to meet deadlines.
You will understand the imperativeness of maintaining confidentiality in this kind of environment and be able to demonstrate your experience in effectively interpreting awards and reconciling, reporting, and providing advice on payroll matters. With a great attitude and effective communication skills you will be well equipped to liaise with the various stakeholders and be a positive addition to our team.
Experience or exposure with TechnologyOne, is beneficial but more important is having that ability to quickly pick up new technology and process.
