We are seeking an energetic and team orientated Payroll Officer and with excellent customer service skills to work in our Woodville North Plant.
We are seeking an energetic and collaborative Payroll Officer to join our team in Woodville North. This position was initially part-time has become a full-time role based on business needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Payroll Management: Handle the entire payroll process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. This includes managing updates (new hires, terminations, etc.), resolving discrepancies, and answering employee questions.
- Employee Records: Maintain meticulous employee records and payroll-related data.
- HR Support: Assist the HR Manager with onboarding, administration, and other tasks as needed.
- Data Confidentiality: Handle sensitive information with discretion.
- Detailed Calculations: Manually calculate and reconcile timecards/timesheets, accruals (including annual leave shutdown), and other payroll components.
- Software & Systems: Utilize MYOB for payroll processing and record-keeping, along with Excel for reporting and analysis.
- Compliance: Understand and apply awards, legislation, contract terms, and tax regulations.
- Reporting: Generate payroll and statistical reports for management review.
- Teamwork: Collaborate with HR, management, and other teams to achieve organizational goals.

- Leave management and reporting
- Superannuation processing
- Termination/resignation payments
- STP reporting
- Quality checks and orientation forms
- Onboarding support
- End-of-month, FBT year, and financial year tasks
Requirements:
- Demonstrated payroll experience and relevant qualifications.
- Excellent customer service skills and a friendly phone manner.
- Strong organizational, communication, and multitasking abilities.
- Proficiency in MYOB and MS Office (Word, Excel).
- High attention to detail and ability to work independently.
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work with minimal supervision.
