Position Overview
The Payroll Officer is responsible for providing accurate and timely processing of company’s payroll and to manage apprenticeship administration.
Reporting to the Payroll Manager, this role works closely with mycar’s Senior Leadership Team, Store Operations, Store Support teams and external industry bodies.
This role has accountability across four key areas:
Managing Payroll daily, weekly, and monthly
- Preparing and distributing employment contracts
- Maintaining Masterfile date including new hires, transfers, resignations, changes to personal information, position ID & security.
- Interpreting awards and agreements in contracts in relation to overtime and shift allowances
- Processing increases and calculation of back pays.
- Assisting with reconciliation of payroll data, as well as reporting responsibilities for internal and external requirements
Workcover Process:
- Daily monitoring of administration relating to work cover payments and support to external parties
- Liaising with the Safety team to process work cover claims
Visa Process:
- Maintaining the visa application process
- Ensuring business compliance with visa requirements
Apprenticeships:
- Maintain time and or competency-based progressions, both weekly & monthly
- Liaising with TAFE and other external parties regarding Australian Apprenticeship requirements
- Providing support to Operations and Store Managers regarding Apprenticeship guidelines
Success Profile
- Demonstrated payroll processing experience.
- High attention to detail with ability to interpret awards and relevant legislation.
- Understanding of payroll legislation and processes including tax & superannuation
- Excellent stakeholder engagement with a collaborative approach towards building relationships at all levels
- Proven ability to work to deadlines.
