About the Role
The Payroll Operations Team Leader/SME position is responsible for the management of the Payroll Operations function for the DTP portfolio.
This role is responsible for end-to-end processing of DTP’s fortnightly pay cycle inclusive of superannuation and payroll tax, additional ad hoc payments required in line with the VPS Agreement, DTP policies and industrial instruments and ensuring all legislative compliance standards are met.

Position Outcomes
- Payroll Processing – The Team Leader Payroll Operations has delivered end-to-end payroll processing activities, ensuring an accurate, compliant, and timely service is provided to the business.
- Technical Payroll Expertise – has demonstrated the ability to interpret Enterprise Agreements and Awards and keeps abreast of and responds to regulatory changes that impact DTP and makes changes as required to ensure legislative compliance requirements are met.
- Stakeholder Engagement – has built strong stakeholder relationships by delivering outcomes on to resolve complex employment or payroll matters and recommending solutions.
- Operational Process Improvements – has led continuous improvement processes of the Payroll Operations function and other HR-related projects with a key focus on accuracy, quality, delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Effective People Leadership – The Team Leader Payroll Operations has provided effective leadership, people management and support to their team. Staff are engaged with high levels of cohesion and commitment and are delivering on the services required.
- Promotes and supports safe, inclusive, and flexible team operations.
Qualifications and Experience
Desirable
- Prior experience working with SAP SuccessFactors or other HR platforms.
- Sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite including Intermediate to Advanced Excel.
