Payroll Team Leader

As the Payroll Team Leader you will be responsible for providing an accurate and efficient payroll service with a high level of customer service as well as ensuring compliance obligations are met for all payroll processes.

This position is a 6-month fixed term contract with potential for permanency in the future.

• Perform all end of period processes ensuring deadlines are met and are scheduled with payroll processing timeframes in mind.
• Process Month End / Year End.
• Prepare, calculate, and process superannuation payments.
• Review, prepare, calculate, and process employee terminations and any associated payments.
• Complete Audits (internal and external).
• Government Reporting as required.
• Maintain employee data in iChris.
• Data upload of time sheets, back pays/pay adjustments, tax adjustments, commission payments and claims for live reads, voice overs and bonuses etc.
• Ensure leave is processed via HR21 within policy guidelines and conduct regular checks to ensure correct leave types are used and correct number of days taken are processed.
• Be familiar with relevant Awards and liaise with the P&C team on interpretation.
• Provide regular & ad-hoc reporting.
• Leave cover for Payroll Manager.
• Be proactive in finding ways to streamline and improve processes, and system enhancements.

   

• 5+ years working in a similar payroll role in a people and culture / or finance team.
• Experience with ichris/chris21 software.
• Demonstrated ability to provide accurate and timely payroll processing.
• Strong listening, and verbal and written communication skills.
• Self-motivated to achieve results and deadlines.
• Advanced Excel skills – pivot tables, lookups, formulas.
• Degree in Finance/HR or related field is an advantage.
• Strong knowledge of payroll legislation.
• Knowledge of Fair Work Awards and Award wages / NES.
