THE ROLE
This is a dynamic role which sees you responsible for leading a dedicated team of payroll officers and administrators, ultimately working together to ensure the accurate and efficient processing of the payroll function. This position would suit an experienced payroll professional with strong exposure to both managing direct reports, and ensuring comprehensive reporting is stored in line with legislative requirements. Previous exposure to the non-profit and aged care regulatory environments will be highly regarded, given the intricate award complexities. THE DUTIES
- Ensuring that payroll is processed accurately, in accordance with legislation, and in a timely fashion.
- Supervising the accurate recording and accruing of entitlement and benefits.
- Identifying, storing, and maintaining reporting required by legislation (e.g. payment summaries, superannuation, payslips, changes to contracts).
- Ensuring that payroll queries are efficiently managed and responded to.
- Managing leave liabilities and providing reports to managers.
- Maintaining efficient payroll processes - searching for process improvements.
- Managing multiple direct reports within the Payroll Team - coordinating training and development, conducting reviews of performance, providing assistance and supervision.
- Building relationships with key internal and external stakeholders (e.g. Finance, WHS, HR, service managers).
- Over five years' experience processing end-to-end payroll in a complex, highly-legislated environment.
- Understanding of the non-profit sector and relevant industrial agreements (aged care highly preferred).
- Strong leadership skills - previous experience managing multiple direct reports.
- Proactive, switched-on, with strong attention to detail.
- Aptitude for exploring process improvements and related project work.
- Experience in Kronos and Chris21 systems highly preferred.
