Our network provides the ability to meet the specific demands of various market segments with an extensive range of grain-fed and pasture-fed products.
About the Role: Beef City Feedlot is a 26,500 capaCity Feedlot situated on the Toowoomba Cecil Plains Road between Oakey and Pittsworth on the Darling Downs. We are currently offering passionate Pen Riders & cattle handlers the opportunity to further develop their horsemanship, cattle handling, livestock diagnosis & treatment skills within our Feedlot.
Responsibilities (include but are not limited to:
- Daily livestock handling including pen riding and stock movements;
- Diagnosis of animal health symptoms;
- Administration of animal health treatments;
- Maintain accurate records of animal treatments and stock movements; and
- Maintain compliance with JBS Australia policies, including but not limited to WHS, HR, QA, Animal Welfare & Environmental obligations.
About you:
- Proven horsemanship skills;
- Sound communication, organisational & interpersonal skills;
- Strong commitment to animal welfare, health & nutrition;
- Demonstrated ability to work well within a team environment;
- Ability & willingness to learn new skills; and
- A good work ethic.
Requirements:
- Must have access to a minimum of two suitable horses and own tack/saddlery to be considered for the position
- All horses must be vaccinated for Hendra Virus prior to entry to JBS sites, proof of vaccination details will be required prior to offer/commencement of employment.
- Own transport including horse transport
