The Opportunity
Peninsula Private Hospital seeks to recruit a dynamic Quality, Risk and Infection Control Manager with extensive knowledge of the National Quality Health Service Standards and their application in the acute health setting to join our executive team.
Reporting directly to the General Manager and Director of Nursing, the Quality, Risk and Infection Control Manager will facilitate ongoing implementation and monitoring of the Hospital’s clinical safety and quality, risk and Infection Control framework.
They will lead the coordination of quality, risk and Infection Control improvement initiatives, projects and activities to maintain patient safety, accreditation standards, regulatory compliance and patient experience, in accordance with the mission, vision and values.
One part-time Clinical Nurse (CN) will directly report to this role.
This is a Full-time position of 76 hours per fortnight.
Responsibilities:
As the Quality, Risk and Infection Control Manager, your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Quality & Risk Management:
- Oversee the implementation and monitoring of the hospital's quality improvement program and risk management framework.
- Lead all accreditation processes.
- Provide leadership and support to managers in continuously improving practices.
- Participate in clinical data collection, analysis, and case review investigations.
- Facilitate training and educational activities.
Infection Prevention & Control:
- Oversee the implementation and monitoring of the hospital's infection prevention and control program.
- Maintain and update the risk register and manage relevant KPIs.
- Conduct audits and investigations related to infection prevention and control.
- Provide education and training to staff on infection prevention and control best practices.
- Ensure compliance with relevant Australian standards and regulations.
Selection Criteria:
Mandatory:
- Registered Nurse with at least 5 years of experience (Level 3)
- Current Practicing Certificate relevant to the state of employment
- Post-graduate qualification in Quality Management, Risk Management, or Infection Prevention and Control
- Experience in leading and implementing sustainable compliance and innovative accreditation processes in acute hospital setting
- Experience in a Private Hospital setting
- Proven track record in implementing quality improvement initiatives
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of National Quality Safety Healthcare Standards (NSQHS) and ACHS Accreditation System
- Experience in infection prevention and control principles and practices
Desirable:
- Registered Nurse Immuniser or working towards
