Job Overview:

The Control Room Quality Assurance Manager for Renewable Energy Assets will be responsible for ensuring the effective and efficient operations of the bidding and trading Control Room and operational Control Room, and overall Control Room activities related to renewable energy assets in Australia. This role involves overseeing the implementation of Quality Assurance processes and procedures to uphold industry standards, regulatory compliance, and optimal operational performance in the renewable energy sector.

The Control Room Quality Assurance Manager will be required to work closely and collaboratively with the Control Room Operations Manager and other members of the Quintas Energy team.

Key Responsibilities

1. Manage the onboarding process of new assets, this includes gathering all required documentation, uploading the documentation into the Quintas platforms (One Drive, Teams and QE connect), configuration of new vpns and SCADAs in the Control Room wall, undertake cyber security audit and creation of the communication protocols and training packages to the team. Further, all relevant documentation to be shared with the Performance Manager.
2. Develop, implement, and keep updated the communication protocols specific to the bidding, trading, and operational activities of all renewable energy assets under management.
3. Maintain the Control Room setup regarding hardware and software. Oversee the trouble shooting of any ongoing issues that arise from SCADA and or any other monitoring or operating platforms.
4. Responsible for ensuring that all the CMMS platforms that are under management are continuously updated and accurate. 
5. Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess the compliance of energy trading and operations processes and protocols are being adhered to by the Control Room team and are in line with industry regulations and best practices.
6. Collaborate with the trading and operations Control Room team and Control Room Operations Manager to provide guidance and training on Quality Assurance standards, emphasizing the importance of maintaining high-quality performance and adherence to protocols, laws and regulations.
7. Support the Control Room team with coverage for overflow of work, annual leave and sick leave when required. 
8. Monitor market trends, grid conditions, and energy pricing to optimize bidding strategies and ensure maximum profitability while maintaining regulatory compliance.
9. Maintain comprehensive documentation of Quality Assurance processes, audit reports, compliance records, and operational performance metrics for the Control Room assets and department. This includes as a minimum reporting monthly on the Control Room performance with metrics from call center platform, QE connect and internal incident register.
10. Coordinate with external regulatory bodies and industry stakeholders to ensure compliance with renewable energy policies, NER, and market rules.
11. Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the Control Room environment, promoting sustainable practices and technologies to enhance the overall performance of renewable energy assets.
12. Provide regular reports to senior management, highlighting the status of Quality Assurance initiatives, operational performance, and proposed strategies for optimizing trading and operations activities in the Control Room.
13. Setup and manage on an ongoing basis the Cyber Security protocols and procedures for Quintas to be compliant with all relevant laws in relation to Cyber Security.
14. Stay informed about the latest developments in renewable energy technologies, energy markets, and regulatory frameworks, integrating relevant updates into the Quality Assurance framework and operational strategies.
15. Work Cooperatively with all members of the Quintas Team and more specifically with the Control Room Operations Manager
16. Perform other activities from time to time as required.

Skills and experience

• At least 2 years of experience in renewable energy projects
• At least 3 years of experience in management of processes and protocols
• General knowledge of O&M practices and main troubleshooting of different inverter technologies
• Knowledge of Energy markets
• Experience managing and troubleshooting SCADAs and VPNs
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
• Ability to take responsibility for assigned responsibilities and meet deadlines
• Bachelor or tertiary degree in Electronics, Electrical or Energy Engineering
