Job description

GREENPEACE

Get ready to join the fight for a greener, more peaceful world with Greenpeace Australia Pacific (GPAP)! As an independent campaigning organisation, we creatively and peacefully shine a light on the urgent environmental challenges facing our planet. We don’t shy away from the tough issues, exposing global environmental problems, and developing solutions for a green and peaceful future.

At GPAP, we're not just a team; we're a movement. By joining us, you're not just taking a job – you're seizing an opportunity to make a real-world difference. With this full-time, contract position, you'll elevate your career while elevating the cause that matters most.

Founded in 1971, Greenpeace now operates as 26 independent national/regional organisations in over 55 countries, making it collectively one of the largest environmental networks on Earth

THE ROLE

Embark on a vital journey as the People and Culture (P&C) Administrator within the dynamic Governance and Performance department. This department is the engine room of Greenpeace Australia Pacific (GPAP) and  this pivotal role will actively bolster the P&C team to deliver unparalleled service and guidance to our people.

Dive into operational P&C functions to actively provide administrative support across  recruitment, selection and onboarding processes, performance management, reporting, and the exciting realm of learning and development. This role will provide you the opportunity to embrace Greenpeace values, learn, be creative and extend beyond the ordinary, contributing essential administrative support not only to the team but also to other departments in times of heightened activity.

Step into a position where every task is a chance to demonstrate your capability, challenge yourself, do something meaningful, and most importantly make a positive impact within GPAP.

Elevate your career with this full-time, 2 year fixed-term position.

THE TEAM

Become an integral part of our dedicated P&C team, composed of three other professionals - the Head of P&C, P&C Advisor, and Talent Acquisition Specialist. This team operates with a high degree of autonomy, accountability and seamlessly collaborates on various tasks and projects. Responsive, trustworthy, organised, and self-driven, each team member contributes their expertise to create a cohesive and supportive work environment. Together, P&C are a dynamic force committed to fostering a positive workplace culture, supporting engagement,  wellbeing, diversity and achieving collective success.

THE IDEAL CANDIDATE

Possessing a solid foundation, you ideally hold a Human Resources (or similar) tertiary qualification or boast an equivalent blend of professional development and hands-on experience. Your familiarity with P&C processes and procedures, coupled with a nuanced understanding of Fair Work procedures and Australian employment law, sets you apart to make a significant impact.

Beyond qualifications, your skills shine brightly. Your interpersonal finesse is your biggest strength, empowering you to build strong connections with the team and your stakeholders. Your written and verbal communication skills are of high quality.

You are tech-savvy and proficient in Google Docs, and ready to navigate the digital landscape effortlessly and support new starters to do the same. You are also familiar with HR Management Systems (HRMS) and able to grasp new software and technology quickly. You are able to maintain accurate records, ensure data accuracy, specifically with your reporting. You enjoy sharing ideas, contributing to process improvements and multi-tasking.

Join us on this journey where your knowledge and skills converge to shape a dynamic and thriving workplace.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU

  • A role with one of the most well-known brands in the environmental NGO space, and the strength of the 50 years of Greenpeace behind you;
  • A great work-life balance including 35 hour work week, integrity framework and generous leave conditions (including an additional week of paid leave between Christmas and New Year);
  • Genuine flexible working conditions including hybrid working arrangements;
  • An incredible brand new head office space that has just opened up in Rosebery, Sydney;
  • A culture that celebrates inclusivity, belonging and diversity; and
  • An annual health allowance.

Annual full-time salary: $66,867.81 + 11% superannuation per annum.

HOW TO APPLY

Your journey begins here.

Be sure to read the full Job Description before applying.

Please submit a Resume (of no more than 3 pages) and a separate Cover Letter (of no more than 1 page) detailing your suitability for the role. In order for your application to be considered, it is a requirement that your Cover Letter includes a response to these questions:

1) In what ways do your personal values resonate with the philosophy and principles of Greenpeace?

2) What are the essential elements and non-negotiables for you in your next role?

Research shows that candidates from underrepresented groups (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, People of Colour, women, non-binary and gender diverse people, LGBTQIA+ communities, and people living with a disability) often don’t apply for roles if they don’t meet all the criteria – unlike majority candidates meeting significantly fewer requirements. We strongly encourage you to apply if you’re interested; we’d love to know how you can amplify our team with your unique experience!

To be considered for this position, applicants must have current working rights for Australia. We respectfully request that Recruitment Agencies do not submit applications for this position.
