Cardijn College is an R-12 co-educational Catholic school in the Marist tradition, deeply inspired by the dual charisms of College patrons Cardinal Joseph Cardijn and St. Marcellin Champagnat. Cardijn College Marcellin at Christie Downs provides a wide variety of vocational education and training opportunities for students in Years 10–12 and beyond, with relationships that extend well into their careers across a range of industry partnerships. Cardijn College Galilee at Aldinga offers Reception to Year 9 in a context where every student experiences a unique sense of belonging in a caring and ecologically aware environment.

 

Position Summary               

The People and Culture Assistant will support the delivery of services, initiatives and administrative requirements of the People and Culture (P&C) function. They will also provide administrative support, as necessary, for other portfolios and support in ensuring the College’s compliance.

The People and Culture Assistant will work closely with the People and Culture team to provide administrative support to a broad range of P&C tasks and duties. In particular, the People and Culture Assistant will support functions including recruitment, onboarding, maintenance of data, staff records and organisational compliance.

 

Essential Selection Criteria

  • Active support for the Catholic ethos and the College Mission and Values.
  • A Certificate IV in a relevant area (or equivalent) and/or relevant demonstrated knowledge and experience in a comparable role.
  • Demonstrated experience with an administrative role with equivalent competencies. Prior experience working in an education environment is highly desirable.
  • High level computer skills and knowledge including use of Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher. Knowledge of Human Resource Information Systems is desired.
  • High level interpersonal and communication skills to interact positively with all members of the school community and external parties to present a professional impression of the school.
  • Utilise reasonable discretion and judgement, take initiative and responsibility to apply solutions and take responsibility for own outcomes.
  • Be motivated, proactive, organised, and able to work productively in a multi-faceted team environment.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional learning and development and active participation in professional reviews, as required.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
     

 

Specific Requirements

Acquire and maintain: 

  • CESA Staff do not need to be vaccinated against COVID-19 as a condition of employment, with the exception of CESA Staff working in High-Risk Settings. CESA Staff are however strongly encouraged to have and maintain an Up-To-Date Vaccination Status in accordance with the ATAGI statement. The vaccination requirement for CESA Staff working in High-Risk Settings is a condition of employment or engagement unless an exemption is approved in accordance with the CESA COVID-19 Vaccination Policy. 
  • Working With Children Check and Catholic Police Clearance to work in Catholic Education SA. 
  • Current valid Responding to Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect – Education and Care certificate. 
  • Applicable First Aid Certificate relevant to the role requirements. 

 

 

Employment Conditions and Benefits:

Cardijn College provides a supportive, inclusive and stimulating work environment, with access to outstanding facilities and resources to enable academic excellence. The employment terms and conditions are governed by the South Australian Catholic Schools Enterprise Agreement 2020. Working hours are 37.5 hours per week for 45 weeks per year.
