In this position, you'll engage across various business units, offering a great opportunity to influence and drive organisational change, development and learning initiatives. As a P&C Manager, you'll collaborate closely with colleagues and business leaders to dissect business requirements, streamline operational frameworks, instil Optus's core behaviours, foster leadership development, and orchestrate tailored people strategies. People who can develop relationships quickly, establish executive presence with senior leaders, apply critical thinking to understand business needs, develop and implement valuable solutions from across the full range of P&C/HR specialties will be successful at Optus. P&C Managers have broad expertise, as well a depth of craft in organisational development and/or learning and development.Your day in the life of at Optus,

  • Partnering with P&C Execs & business leaders to support running of the business by understanding customer needs, prioritising what matters most and scoping initiatives that deliver strategic value.
  • Collaborates across P&C to influence, scope and deliver people initiatives aligned with business strategies and in year people plans.
  • Provides coaching and support to business leaders that builds their capability across all levels to support them through change and how to most effectively manage their people opportunities and challenges.
  • Work with the P&C COEs including Workforce shaping team and leaders to build strategic organisational design models to ensure “fit for future” organisational structures and ways of working models.
  • Establishes relationships quickly with business leaders across all areas including acting in a delegate capacity when required at SLT engagement and meetings.
Your skills to pay the bills,
  • This position is ideal for an individual who embodies the essence of a true business partner, possessing skill in organisational change, organisational development and transformation. Alternatively, candidates with background in learning and development who has transitioned into a business partner role would excel in this position.
  • Former experience leading in simplifying structures, running, and supporting changes to the operating model, ensuring P&C practices are aligned with the principles of agility and flexibility.
  • Ability to understand and clarify stakeholder needs and where appropriate, offer expert advice and support on people-related decisions and strategies.
  • Former experience in leading initiatives that increase employee capability, retain talent, drive organisational efficiency, culture, and employee engagement/ employee experiences.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent knowledge of HR practice and processes including solid understanding of Australian employment law acquired from progressive HR roles.
  • Ability to work at pace in an ambiguous environment within a matrixed organisation.
