Job description

CHT are a not-for-profit provider of aged care services including residential care, community care and independent living housing options.  We are committed to excellence in all aspects of our care and services.

We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, self-motivated person with a passion for working in human resources and the Aged Care sector to join our team.

As a non-for-profit provider we offer competitive salary rates and the benefit of salary packaging.

This full time position will be an integral part of our People and Culture team, undertaking a range of human resources generalist responsibilities and activities.  There will be opportunity to grow your experience in all aspects of human resources, as part of a skilled, committed and supportive team.

The primary responsibilities of the position will include:

  • Undertaking the end-to-end recruitment process;
  • Induction of new employees;
  • Coordinating the delivery of learning and development; 
  • Facilitate the injury management process;
  • Monitor and maintain areas of regulatory compliance;
  • Work as part of a team to undertake accurate preparation and processing of payroll;
  • Undertake master roster administration and facilitate annual leave coverage;
  • Preparation of employment contracts;
  • Coordinating all aspects of the employee exit process;
  • Facilitate recruitment and induction of volunteers;
  • Management of incident near miss and hazard reporting data;
  • Coordinate vaccination programs;
  • Assist with the coordination of meetings and record keeping relating to employee performance;
  • Complete meeting minutes and note taking as required;
  • Complete human resources and work health and safety audits and reporting;
  • Preparation and review of human resources documentation and correspondence.

The successful applicant will demonstrate:

  • Experience in a human resources generalist role; 
  • Excellent organisational skills, this will be essential to success in the role, you need to be able to prioritise and multitask;
  • Confidence working in a position that requires meeting deadlines, problem solving and being innovative;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate easily with a broad range of team members;
  • Adaptability and flexibility including the ability to deal with change with ease;
  • A willingness to join and contribute to part of dedicated, committed and hardworking team;
  • A commitment to increasing their knowledge of the Aged Care sector.

Essential requirements of the position are:

  • A minimum of two years experience in a human resources position or leadership;
  • A valid National Police Check that has been undertaken within the last six months or a willingness to undertake one;
  • Valid Australian Work Entitlements.
