This is where you come in: We are looking for a Health and Safety Business Partner, ready to support business leaders across multiple sites in QLD.  

You will work as a Pack with the Site Leaders and Operational Managers to coach and support operational teams to work strategically, managing risk and improving safety outcomes. Education of our people and stakeholder engagement are key attributes required for this role to foster a positive and collaborative H&S environment, and to establish the H&S BP as a trusted Business Partner.

• Ability to facilitate safety training programs in small or large groups.

• Ability to analyse information and make decisions quickly and accurately.
• HSE technical competence including sound understanding of the government safety requirements and industry standards.
• Sound knowledge of workers compensation and injury management.
• Comprehensive knowledge of machine guarding, confined space and working from heights along with warehousing and logistics.
• Knowledge of Done safe (or similar safety management systems) is essential.

The role: 

• Provide input into the development and assist the execution of HS improvement plans.
• HS subject matter expert working closely with management and providing visible leadership.
• Develop and lead the sites HS Risk Assessment programs includes participation in hazard identification, guide risk assessment protocols and review documented risk assessments.
• Assess controls and investigate opportunities to make further safety improvements.
• Develop a positive safety culture amongst teams.
• Provide input to the development of HS Training Plans. Coordinate the execution of HS Training which may mean the coordination of training sessions across different shifts.
• Partner with the Engineering and Maintenance on topics such as Working at Height, Machinery Safety, LOTO, Asbestos, Ammonia, Legionella, Electrical Safety, Permit to Work, Contractor Safety and Fire Safety.
• Partner with Warehousing and Logistics for workplace transport and warehouse safety.
• Provide support in incident investigations.
• Support the delivery of health and wellbeing initiatives and develop strategies to address any issues identified through these services.
• Develop programs and strategies to assist employees and managers in identifying early signs of illnesses and provide advice regarding fitness for work.
• Oversee the management of Workers Compensation early intervention, injury management, rehabilitation and Return to Work services and deliver successful best practice return to work outcomes.
• Manage employee personal injury and illness cases.
