Red Medical, (Red Unlimited Pty Ltd) , is a licensed provider of event first aid and medical services, by the VIC Department of Health. We also provide first aid training and have retail and online first aid stores.

Role Overview
As the Lead of People & Culture, you will be pivotal in managing and nurturing our event medical team. Your primary responsibilities will include end-to-end HR management, with a strong focus on recruitment, onboarding, annual credentialing. This role also has a large component ensuring we have the right staff for the right events (rostering and allocating staff to events using our expression of interest system). You will be in charge of ensuring that we have a people-centred culture for our 50-60 casual staff, ensuring they are (and feel) supported, valued, and effectively deployed to the right events at the right time. This is a newly created role, something we have largely outsourced and managed within our operations staff.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee end-to-end HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, annual credentialing, general HR matters and exiting.
- Develop an efficient strategy and manage the rostering of operational staff to various events, handling sick leave and ensuring sufficient staffing levels.
- Collaborate with our recruiter to ensure we maintain a robust pipeline of qualified staff in the righ areas.
- Develop and implement change strategies to foster a connected, supportive, and people-focused culture within our geographically dispersed workforce.
- Respond to staff HR concerns and issues promptly, ensuring our team feels heard and valued.
- Work directly with the COO/CEO and Director of Operations to align HR practices with company goals and compliance standards.
Qualifications and Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of HR experience, specifically managing a large casual workforce (preferably in diverse locations.)
- Proven ability to manage a geographically dispersed team and address their unique challenges.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with a people-first approach.
- Autonomous self starter that sets the project and delivers.
- Has an appreciation that we are a small business, delivering big business outcomes.
Work Environment and Culture
Our new office is opening in June on Racecourse Road in Flemington with train stations and trams at our door.
While our culture is naturally fragmented due to the nature of our workforce, we are committed to building a cohesive, supportive environment.
We need a Manager People & Culture who can develop strategies to make our team feel connected and valued, even when they are not physically present in one office.
Work Arrangements
This is a part time role preferably over 5 days (preferably 4hrs x 5 days).
This role offers flexibility in terms of some remote work and hybrid arrangements, to be negotiated with the successful candidate. There would be an in-office component to this role.
Salary and Benefits
Salary range: $80,000 - $90,000 pro rata.
