Foxleigh Mine is located 15km south of Middlemount and approx. 275km northwest of Rockhampton. The mine in its 24th year of operation produces premium PCI metallurgical coal for use in steel manufacturing. About the Role
Reporting to the People & Engagement Manager on a 12 month fixed term basis. The role will require you to play an integral role in partnering with management, to help improve the effectiveness of site operations and build a high-performing engaged culture.
- Support to Superintendents in performance management, disciplinary procedures, grievance resolution and recruitment.
- Providing People coaching, advice, policy and procedure interpretation to Superintendents and employees
- Coordination of site based annual performance review processes
- Contractor meeting management (i.e. Housing, Camp, Labour hire)
- Provide assistance in the management of site absenteeism and associated reporting.
- Providing guidance and administrative support for employee life-cycle management processes
- Support the People & Engagement Manager retention and workforce engagement projects
Duties:
The role will require you to work collaboratively with other Foxleigh Mine personnel to deliver the following:
- People advice, training, coaching and support to managers ensuring they are informed of their obligations when managing HR and IR issues.
- Expertise regarding performance appraisals, disciplinary procedures, disputes and dismissals
- Contractor meeting management (i.e. Housing, Camp, Labour hire)
- Provide assistance in the management of site absenteeism and associated reporting.
- Support in the development, implementation and maintenance of effective people strategies and initiatives
- Promote a Foxleigh Mine values-based approach to daily activities
- End to end recruitment and administrative tasks
- Support the People & Engagement Manager with various People & Engagement projects
About you:
A successful candidate will possess the following:
- Minimum 2-3 years’ experience in a similar role within an industrial or mining environment
- Current knowledge of applicable Australian state and federal employment legislation
- A practical, can-do approach with the ability to build credibility with both management and employees
- Ability to use initiative and adapt to change
- HR Qualification preferred or relevant experience
- Experience with EA Negotiations and processes
- Experienced in SharePoint
