We are actively searching for a dynamic and self-motivated individual to join our team in the role of People Engagement Coordinator on a full-time basis. This presents an excellent opportunity to offer assistance to MEA Branch Coordinators, Committees and MEA’s Charity – MEA Power Up - across the National Master Electricians Australian network. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing an engagement strategy that aligns with MEA's mission. In this position, you will collaborate closely with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure the availability of optimal opportunities and channels for volunteer engagement within MEA.
You will work alongside branch coordinators, providing guidance, support, tools and training to facilitate the efficient coordination of all volunteers. This role requires a proactive approach to foster a positive and impactful volunteer experience in line with MEA's objectives.
The Role
- Contribute to ongoing development of a volunteer/people engagement strategy that reflects best practice and supports MEA's mission
- Implement a volunteer framework and program across MEA that includes initiatives and activities that support ongoing volunteer engagement, development and upskilling to increase the capability and capacity of MEA
- Be the first point of call for branch coordinators to ensure they are meeting role responsibilities
- Assist in the coordination of online and face to face induction sessions for new volunteers as well as training updates for existing volunteers
- Provide support services to branches as required to run committee meetings, including, scheduling of meetings, sending of notices, preparing meeting templates and agendas, ensuring minutes are taken and circulated and directing meeting outcomes to the appropriate internal MEA resource for action.
- Promote ideas and activities that recognise and reward the volunteer’s contribution across the organisation.
- Develop systems to provide opportunities for volunteers to provide feedback and contribute to MEA’s processes and systems.
- Coordinate and help organise events held by each of the Branch’s and provide appropriate support to the Branch Coordinators in running those events. This will include venue booking, catering, guest speaker bookings and liaising with Marketing to promote events to the local member base.
- Partner with the Marketing team to drive engagement on social mediate, with partners and in the community.

The ideal applicant has:
- a relevant qualification such as Certificate IV in Volunteer Program management or equivalent
- Preferred experience in volunteer lifecycle.
- Demonstrated experience with relationship building and proven ability to liaise at all levels within the organisation and external organisations.
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to build rapport quickly and work with people at all levels.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritise tasks, and meet deadlines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a dedication to data integrity.
