Job Title: PML Researcher
POSITION SUMMARY
The PML Researcher will conduct assigned technical projects in the laboratory. This will primarily be laboratory work and may include some plant and field trials, and some work with 3rd parties such as suppliers.
A Researcher is knowledgeable in the science and/or engineering principles of their technical discipline. They will work under the guidance of laboratory managers or project leaders on select projects within their laboratory.
A Researcher will demonstrate their ability to apply known scientific and/or engineering knowledge in the area of responsibility of their laboratory.
Some travel will be required of this position.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- 1. Knows and observes safety regulations of the corporation
- 2. Understands regulatory information (i.e., SDS) for chemicals
- 3. Responsible for ensuring safe performance of employees under his/her supervision
- Provides clear, complete, and accurate written documentation, such as, Research Reports with conclusions and recommendations
- Independently sets up and conducts simple experiments and documents finding in ELN (Electronic Lab Notebook)
- Effectively completes assigned projects in timely manner
- Uses technical knowledge for execution of projects and acquires knowledge of job content
- Develops knowledge in products and/or processes in area of responsibility
- Participates in plant or field trials
- Provides proper documentation necessary for successful execution of intellectual property
- Develop and execute basic objectives for project initiatives
- Support work that contributes to company intellectual property
- Applies innovative improvements to products and processes
- Represents CIC in a positive and professional manner
- Effectively communicates to laboratory staff, stakeholders and manager on status, plans and issues in area of responsibility
- Prepares and delivers basic presentations
- Consults and utilizes the USG operating bulletin system
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education and Related Experience
- B.S. in appropriate science or engineering discipline or 5+ years equivalent experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Required:
- Advanced mathematical skills
- Strong written and oral communication
- Basic statistical data analysis skills
- Proficiency in MS Office Applications
- Basic emotional intelligence
Preferred:
- Experimental design skills
- Basic understanding of intellectual property rights
- Advanced computer skills (CAD, Minitab, mat Lab etc)
