About the role
Responsible for the floor management of peri-operative suite on daily basis. Allocations for all scrub, scout, anaesthetics, recovery, admissions and stage 2 recovery staff. Relieve peri-operative Services Manager when required.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anaesthesiologists, and other stakeholders to coordinate surgical procedures, accommodating both elective and emergency cases.
- Coordinate the allocation of surgical resources, including operating rooms, equipment, and staff, to maximise efficiency and minimise downtime.
- Facilitate communication and collaboration among surgical teams, nursing staff, and ancillary departments.
- Implement and adhere to best practices and protocols for each surgical speciality to ensure patient safety and compliance with regulatory standards.
Your main duties will include:
- Coordinate the allocation of surgical resources, including operating rooms, equipment, and staff, to maximise efficiency and minimise downtime.
- Monitor and manage inventory of surgical supplies and equipment, ensuring availability for scheduled procedures.
- Day-to-day staffing and allocations to meet unit requirements including sick leave cover and skill mix requirements.
About you:
An exciting opportunity has become available for experienced Peri-operative Coordinators to join our team to provide clinical leadership and support. Working with the Clinical Managers for Theatre, Day Theatre Suite, Endoscopy Suite, Anaesthetics and Recovery the Theatre Coordinator provides shift by shift operational coverage for the requirements within our busy Peri-operative environment of 11 main theatres, 5 day surgery theatres and 4 procedural rooms split across two floors. We are looking for self-motivated, enthusiastic individuals who are prepared to lead a team dedicated to providing patient centred care in a values based organisation. These roles have a shift work component, working both early and late shifts.
