About US
Welcome to Little Emu Academy. We are a 58-place service that provides care and education for children aged 6 weeks to 12 years. We are located in the Western Sydney, in the suburb of Emu Heights.
Roles Available
Certificate 3 & Diploma Roles
What is required?
- Current and valid working with children check
- A current or willing to obtain a First Aid, Anaphylaxis and Asthma certification
- Diploma Or Certificate 3 in Early Childhood education or ACECQA approved and recognized or equivalent.
- Permanent Availability
- A sound understanding of Early Years Learning Framework, National Quality Standards and National Quality Standard
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- You will have demonstrated experience and skills in caring for and educating children aged 0 to 5 years old in an early learning environment.
- Be available to work Monday- Friday 7am - 6pm
Tasks & responsibilities
- Reporting to the Director on a daily basis
- Implementing and assisting in the daily program based on the NQS and Early Years Learning Framework
- Cleaning and General care of the classroom and its resources
- Adhering to policies and procedures of the service
- Maintaining records of children's learning and development
- Interacting with children and families in an ethical and just framework and identifies the importance of families in the lives of children
- Willingness to take responsibility at the service
- reliable and flexible in needs to meet staffing ratio requirements
- committed to shifts and job requirements
- completing daily journal using IT based system
- Have own transport as public transport is limited.
Traineeships
Our service is also offering a childcare traineeship to the right cabdidate. A traineeship is the perfect start for your child care career. The successful applicant will study and attain their Certificate III or Diploma in Children's Services whilst working full time, having plenty of 'on the job' experience, working with a great team of experienced Educators.
Essential Criteria
- Responsible, courteous and reliable
- The ability to work within a team and take instruction from others
- Highly motivated and genuinely interested in Early Childhood Education and Care
- Commitment to study and the ability to complete required assessments
- Must undertake a Working with children check (prior to commencing employment)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Be available to Monday- Friday between 7am - 6pm
