ROLE | PERMANENT PART-TIME
HOURS: This is a permanent part-time position, working onsite in the Melbourne CBD, with flexibility to work up to the equivalent of 3 full-time days per week (to be spread over 5 days if preferable), along with support of evening auctions (approx. 8 per year) as required. Additional leave flexibility available over school holiday periods as required.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Permanent Part-Time subject to a six-month probationary review.
SALARY: Commensurate with experience plus statutory superannuation.
COMMENCEMENT: Immediately with flexibility for the right candidate.

ABOUT THE ROLE
The Finance Manager is responsible for leading the accounting function with the assistance of a full-time, experienced Finance Assistant. As the Finance Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the financial management and strategic direction of the company. Reporting directly to the CEO and Director, you will be an integral part of a collaborative team, contributing to the growth and success of the organisation.
As the Finance Manager, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the general ledger and payroll in Xero through to timely and accurate presentation of financial results including the income statement, balance sheet, historical cash flow statement and cash flow forecast.

You are a strong leader with the ability to develop and mentor the Finance Assistant to ensure team success in meeting ongoing deliverables. Your interpersonal and communication skills are exceptional, allowing you to build and maintain effective relationships with ease.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The role will perform (but will not be limited to) the following activities:
- Manage, deliver and support month-end and year-end process
- Manage the Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Payroll functions (< 20 full-time employees)
- Co-ordinate and produce requested work papers for the annual income tax compliance process and liaise with external taxation providers on an annual and ad-hoc basis
- Management of foreign exchange exposure and overall treasury function
- Manage and prepare FBT, BAS and payroll tax returns
- Provide ongoing learning support to the Finance Assistant
SKILLS / QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED
In addition, you have the following:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role.
- Preferably have mid-tier or big 4 background experience.
- Current CA/CPA qualification.
- Experience with Xero processes and reporting.
- Solid understanding of accounting principles, transactions, and reconciliations.
- Knowledge and expertise in the areas of payroll.
