About Us

The Fraser Coast Hospice, located in Hervey Bay, is a new purpose built 6 bed facility that provides 24 hour inpatient multi-disciplinary palliative care to anyone in the community over 18 years of age who has a terminal illness.

We are currently seeking to appoint a Personal Care Assistant who will be an important team member assisting the Registered Nurses to provide high quality palliative care for Clients.

Selection Criteria

The successful candidates would ideally be:

• compassionate with a caring, engaging and professional approach
• energetic with ability to deliver high quality care
• committed to and able to demonstrate a knowledge of continuous quality improvement
• able to provide and demonstrate exceptional communication skills and customer service
• able to work with volunteers and community members

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 12 months experience in healthcare
• Relevant entry level qualification in aged care/individual support or undergraduate diploma or bachelor student 

Tasks & Responsibilities

• Provide holistic Personal Care for clients under the direction of the Registered Nurse
• Work in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team including Volunteers
• Participate in quality improvement projects and audits in line with the NSQHS standards and other relevant legislation
• Complete mandatory education and access other relevant palliative care education
