A number of these smaller not for profit organisations have interactions with people experiencing a wide range of challenges such as mental illness, domestic violence, drug and alcohol dependency and homelessness. Sometimes staff are threatened at the workplace, sometimes staff feel fearful for their own safety, sometimes staff feel fearful of the safety of others, sometimes staff aren't sure what to do when someone does make threatening behaviour, has a weapon etc.
These organisations want to make their offices friendly, welcoming and safe.
We seek a consultant with expertise in:
- improving security at workplace
- reviewing emergency procedures
- reviewing crisis procedures
- training staff in resolving conflicts, difficult conversations, managing aggression, descalating violent situations
Work will be occasional as it may involve visits to an organisation talking to staff, observing interactions, reviewing current procedures, training staff etc.
Fees will be in the $75-$100+GST per hour range.
