We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Managing Pharmacist to join our team. This role is critical to providing exceptional customer service that develops relationships with customers and ensures continued repeat business and the long-term success of the Pharmacy.
Main responsibilities
- Responsible for accurately dispensing prescribed medications to patients. This involves verifying the prescription, checking for any drug interactions or contraindications, and ensuring the correct dosage and instructions for use.
- Provide advice on Over-the-Counter (OTC) medications and general health-related queries.
- Review prescriptions, assess their appropriateness and collaborate with physicians, nurses, or other healthcare professionals to optimise patients care.
- Assisting customers in selecting appropriate OTC products and offering advice on their usage & side effects
- Supervising pharmacy technicians and other team members, ensuring compliance with laws and regulations, and maintaining accurate records.
- Oversee medication inventory, ensuring an adequate supply of medications while minimising waste and expiration and responsible for quality control.
- Review patients’ medication histories to identify potential drug interactions, duplications, and other medication-related issues.
- Provide information and counselling to patients about their medications. Instruct patients on how to take the medicine and explain any potential side effects.
- Coordinate and supervise labelling and storage of various medicines, vaccines and other related products and maintain the record of issue of narcotics.
- Organising medication schedules, recommending adherence aids, and providing guidance on proper storage and disposal of medications.
- Engage in ongoing professional development activities to stay abreast of the latest advancements in pharmaceutical care. This may include attending seminars, conferences, and training sessions to enhance your knowledge and skills.
- Manage staff both in dispensary and front of shop to ensure optimal business functioning.
Essential requirements:
- Currently registered as a pharmacist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and able to practice independently.
- Previous experience working in similar settings for at least 1-2 years.

- Demonstrated high-level of oral and written communication skills to communicate with clients and team members effectively.
- Ability to work under minimum supervision.
- Demonstrated commitment to the profession and excellent team-playing skills.
