The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Pharmacist - Advanced (Emergency, General Medicine and Aged Care) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
Operationally manage and provide strategic direction and professional leadership in the delivery of pharmacy services to a complex or diverse range of clinical units
Operationally manage, mentor and oversee a team of HP4 pharmacists
Lead and participate in clinical research and Quality Use of Medicines projects with outcomes influencing clinical processes and standards of clinical practice
Lead and participate in governance processes aimed at improving medication safety through review of clinical intervention and incident information
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:
A Bachelor of Pharmacy degree (or equivalent)
AHPRA Registration
An advanced and broad specialist clinical knowledge and skillset is desirable
Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
Temporary full time (12 months, with possibility of extension)
Base salary ranging from $140 767 - $146 883 per annum
About Us
The Pharmacy Service provides medication management services across the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service, 7 days a week. Our team of approximately 80 pharmacists are assisted in their roles by over 40 support persons comprising pharmacy assistants, administration officers, purchasing and stores personnel.
